2022 Senior Walk

A wonderful tradition got back on its feet last week as Clyde A. Erwin High School seniors took a walk down memory lane.

For their first full Senior Walk since 2019, the Class of 2022 donned their caps and gowns and walked the halls of Clyde A. Erwin Middle School and Joe P. Eblen Intermediate School. They then split into smaller groups to visit their elementary schools. At every school, their younger peers lined the halls holding congratulatory signs and cheering. Several seniors stopped to hug former teachers and give high-fives to the kids.

“Senior Walk allows seniors to celebrate and reminisce about the past with the educators that supported them in their younger years,” said Erwin High Principal Chip Cody. “It allows the younger students to see the joy and success of others and build on that excitement as they think about being in their shoes one day.”

“It was a memorable experience for staff, students, and our seniors,” added Woodfin Elementary Principal April Wright. “We definitely had some tears of joy.”
