Students in the BCSVA Ecology Club closed their laptops for the day and experienced a day of outdoor learning with local expert Jen Knight, a Project Explore environmental educator with the NC Division of Soil and Water Conservation. She shared her expertise and guided students through selecting trees for our year-long citizen scientist observation project. Then students discovered the dietary habits of local owls by dissecting owl pellets and examining the remains of their prey.
